Police Seek Information After Light Rail Assault

Police are appealing for public assistance following an alleged assault on Sydney's light rail network last month.

Around 5:30pm on Wednesday 20 August 2025, a 49-year-old man was allegedly assaulted at Parramatta Square Light Rail Station by an unknown man.

The 49-year-old man was approached by the man on the light rail platform and after a brief argument, was allegedly pushed in the back as he walked away.

About 4pm on Friday 22 August 2025, police were notified of the incident and officers attached to North West Police Transport Command commenced an investigation.

Police have today (Thursday 11 September 2025) released images of a man who they believe can assist with inquiries.

He is described as being in his late teens, average height, slim build, wearing a white and red beanie, black puffer jacket, black cargo pants and brown shoes.
