Police seek information after restaurant damaged by fire at Lithgow

Police are appealing for information as investigations continue into the cause of a fire which damaged a restaurant in the state's Central Tablelands.

About 4.30am on Saturday (26 October 2019), emergency services responded to reports of a fire in the backyard of a restaurant on Main Street at Lithgow.

On arrival emergency services found the building's roof cavity well alight.

The roof structure of the restaurant was destroyed, however no injuries were reported.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District established a crime scene with the assistance of Detectives and Chifley Crime Scene Officers.

The fire is being treated as suspicious.

Police commenced inquiries and wish to speak with anyone who can assist with the investigation.
