Police seek information as children approached at Broken Hill

Police are appealing for information after a group of boys were approached by a man in the state's Far West yesterday.

About 5.30pm on Monday (11 May 2020), a 13-year-old boy, was with his friends riding his bike along Gypsum Street, Broken Hill, when a vehicle approached the group.

A man spoke with the group before the children continued to ride home.

The 13-year-old boy told his family and the police were contacted.

Officers attached to Barrier Police District attended and commenced an investigation into the incident.

The man driving is described as having tanned complexion, aged in his 20s, with short black hair and black facial hair. The boys told police the man spoke with a strong accent.

The vehicle is described as being a two-door car with black roof racks, a black line that runs from the front door to the rear, three silver rims and a black left-front tyre.

Police are appealing for public assistance and urge anyone with information or any motorists who may have dash cam vision and were in the area today to contact Broken Hill Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
