Police seek information at Fairfield

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man who may be able to assist with investigations into a stolen car incident at Fairfield on Brisbane's southside this morning, August 4.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 2.10am, a taxi driver was refuelling his cab at a Farfield Road service station when he was approached by a man.

The man demanded his keys and threatened the driver before leaving the scene in the stolen taxi, bearing Queensland registration T57 876.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, with a slim build and long dark hair styled in a mullet.

He was wearing baggy blue jeans with a distinctive black EXCHANGE t-shirt and no shoes.

Detectives from Dutton Park Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have released vision of a man they believe might be able to assist with their enquiries.

Police are asking him, or anyone who may know the man, to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
