Members of Strike Force Viper are calling for witnesses in relation to an aggravated unlawful entry in which a man was assaulted, earlier today.
Just after 5:30am, a 48-year-old man awoke to find an unknown man in his home in the suburb of MacDonnell.
It is alleged the offender demanded the man's wallet and cash, and when the victim attempted to leave, the offender assaulted him with a weapon.
A scuffle broke out between the two men and the offender fled the scene.
The man was taken to the Alice Springs Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
