Police seek information on Traffic Offences - Palmerston

Police are calling for information which will lead to the identification of a motorcycle rider for traffic and hooning offences.

Just before 9:00am on Sunday 12 May 2019, a green and black Kawasaki ZX10R, bearing false registration plates 'XPLOD', was travelling inbound on the Stuart Highway near Palmerston.

Police attempted to intercept the motorcycle which initially slowed, then rapidly accelerated to over 280km/h as it proceeded through the temple Terrace intersection. Police did not pursue the motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle was last seen wearing a lime green coloured shirt, black shorts, a green and black helmet with a gold coloured reflective visor.

Senior Sergeant Angela Stringer from Road Policing Command said, "This behaviour is absolutely unacceptable. I want to remind all motorists that road safety is everyone's responsibility and to drive so others survive."

If any members of the public have information which may identify the rider of the motorcycle, we urge you to contact Police on 131444 or you can call anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
