Police seek information over suspicious fire - Murray River

Police are investigating a suspicious fire in the state's south yesterday.

Emergency services were called to a home on Shaw Street, Springdale Heights, north of Albury, about 10.30pm (Saturday 4 March 2023).

Neighbours notified police after seeing flames coming from the property.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze, with damage confined to two wheelie bins, which had been placed under the electrical power box and set on fire.

Residents from the group home were evacuated and there are no reports of injury.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire, which is being treated as suspicious.
