Police seek information: Suspicious fires, Underwood

Logan detectives investigating two suspicious fires at Underwood in early February and March have released images of two men who may be able to assist their investigations.

Around 11.35pm on Sunday February 10, two males deliberately started a fire at a unit, located in a 3-unit commercial complex on Darnick Street, Underwood, before running from the scene.

The fire failed to take hold, prompting the two males to return to the address around 12.25am, where they again set fire to the premises.

The fire destroyed a trampoline business and adjoining property.

Both males are possibly aged in their late teens to early 20s. One is described as having a skinny build, short dark hair and was wearing a baseball cap, three-quarter pants and joggers at the time. The second male was wearing a hooded jacket and shorts.

Detectives from Logan Central Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating if this fire is linked to a fire at Darnick Street in early March.

Sometime overnight on Saturday March 2 and Sunday March 3, a fire was lit in the toilet of a unit in the next-door unit complex. The toilet sustained flame-damage and a nearby martial arts business sustained smoke damage.

Anyone who may have noticed anything or anyone suspicious in the vicinity of Darnick Street on the specific dates in question is urged to contact police.
