Police are appealing for information after a man was allegedly assaulted at a park in Newcastle last night.
About 9pm yesterday (Tuesday 10 March 2026), police were notified of an alleged assault at Braye Park in Waratah.
Police have been told two men exited a vehicle and assaulted a man before driving from the scene in an unknown direction.
As a result of the incident, the man sustained minor lacerations and bruising. He did not require medical treatment.
The man, aged in his 60s, contacted emergency services and immediately drove to Waratah Police Station to report the matter.
Police attached to Newcastle City Police District commenced inquiries into the incident.
As inquiries continue, police wish to speak with the driver and occupants of a white GWM utility seen in the area at the time of the incident.
