Police Seek Missing Strathfield South Woman

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman missing from Sydney's inner west.

Melissa Demattia, aged 66, was last at Strathfield South about 8am today (Monday 20 April 2026).

When she was unable to be located or contacted, officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

There are serious concerns for Melissa's welfare as she lives with a brain injury.

Melissa is described as Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, medium build, 152cm with short black curly hair.

She was last seen wearing a cream-coloured cardigan and a cream coloured full length dress with black flowers.

Melissa is known to frequent the rail network.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact Auburn Police Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
