Investigators are reappealing for public assistance after a fatal pedestrian crash at a shopping centre car park in Sydney's west earlier this week.
About 11.40am on Monday (29 June 2026), emergency services were called to a shopping centre car park on Blacktown Road, Prospect, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle at low speed.
Several members of the community assisted the pedestrian – an 81-year-old woman – prior to the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics, who treated the woman before she was taken to hospital.
The driver – a 24-year-old man – was subjected to a roadside breath test which returned a negative result.
Officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the crash.
About 8pm the same day, police were notified that the woman later died in hospital.
As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone who may have been at the shopping centre car park, with information, dashcam vision, and or mobile phone footage from around the time of the crash, to contact Blacktown police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
