Police are appealing for further information after a man was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle in relation to a three-vehicle traffic crash at Boyne Island on Friday, May 16.
It will be alleged that around 5:00pm, a 2019 brown Mazda BT-50 was travelling westbound on Boyne Island Road before colliding with the trailer of a Western Star prime mover, causing the Mazda to lose control and further collide with a 2020 grey LDV T60 dual cab travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the LDV T60, a 53-year-old Herston woman was transported to Gladstone Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the prime mover was not physically injured.
The driver of the Mazda, a 35-year-old Boyne Island man, was also initially transported to Gladstone Hospital with head injuries.
He has since been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, driving under the influence of liquor.
He was refused police bail and is due to appear in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday, May 19.
Investigators from the Forensic Crash Unit are appealing for anyone who may have seen either vehicle prior to the crash, or may have relevant dashcam or CCTV video footage, to come forward.
