Police Seek Tips in Parramatta Transit Assault

Police are appealing for information following an alleged assault on a train in Sydney's west earlier this month.

About 11:15pm on Friday 8 August 2025, emergency services responded to reports of an assault on a train between Parramatta and Auburn Railway Station.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command responded and were told an unknown man assaulted five men, aged in their twenties, during the journey. No significant injuries were reported.

Investigators from the Police Transport Command North West have commenced an investigation into the incident and have released images of a man who might be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 25 and 30-years-old, with red hair, a beard and a rats tail. He also has a number of distinctive tattoo's including a large 'Jesus' tattoo on his left arm.

He was last seen wearing a white designer t-shirt, black cargo shorts and white joggers.
