Police seek to identify man for petrol theft in Broadmeadows

Broadmeadows police are seeking assistance to identify a man they wish to speak to in relation to stealing petrol for a broken down dirt bike in Broadmeadows last month, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told the man’s unregistered dirt bike broke down on the Pascoe Vale Road off ramp on the Western Ring Road on Wednesday 12 December 2018 about 6.05pm.

He then walked to a nearby petrol station on Pascoe Vale Road, filled a jerry can with petrol and left without paying.

The man returned to his bike, filled it with petrol and rode off.

Police attempted to intercept the dirt bike however the offender rode through a red light to evade police.

Investigators have release an image of a man they are keen to speak to about the incident.

He is described as being about 20-years-old, Caucasian with a slim build and blonde hair.

He was wearing a blue Nike t-shirt and black Adidas shorts.
