Police seek witnesses after brawl at Rockdale

Officers from St George Police Area Command are appealing for assistance following a brawl in Rockdale.

Just after 5pm today (Sunday 25 April 2021), police were called to a sports field on West Botany Street, Rockdale, after reports of a brawl involving spectators, armed with weapons, at the conclusion of a soccer match.

Officers from St George Police Area Command attended, along with the Public Order and Riot Squad (PORS), and the crowd started to disperse.

Two men were found suffering lacerations to their limbs. They were taken to St George Hospital for treatment with non-life threatening injuries.

As inquires continue police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries, he is described as being of Caucasian appearance and stocky build. Last seen wearing a black jumper, black shorts, black bucket hat and dark sunglasses.
