Police seek witnesses after fatal crash in South Wentworthville

Police investigating a fatal crash at South Wentworthville today have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

About 7pm (Wednesday 28 November 2018), emergency services were called to Old Prospect Road after reports that a vehicle had left the road and struck a pole, NSW Police say.

The male driver was treated at the scene but could not be revived.

The male passenger was not injured in the crash.

Police from Cumberland Police Area Command established a crime scene at the location and commenced inquiries into the incident.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner outlining the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

Officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and are appealing for anyone who may have seen or have dashcam footage in the leadup to the crash to come forward.

Several road closures are in place and police have advised motorists to avoid the area.
