Police seek witnesses after reports of an unconfirmed stabbing in Unanderra

Police are appealing for public assistance after receiving an unconfirmed report of a stabbing at Unanderra this afternoon, NSW Police say.

About 3.30pm today (Wednesday 14 March 2018), a woman has told police that she witnessed two motorcycle riders stationary next to a Ford Falcon sedan in Farmborough Road.

Police have been told one rider opened the front passenger door of the Ford and stabbed the occupant three times.

The motorcycles stayed with the Ford and moved through the intersection together, turning right onto the Princes Highway, and all vehicles travelled south.

Police were contacted via Triple Zero (000) and officers from Lake Illawarra Police District commenced a search, as no stabbing incident had been reported to police or hospitals in the area.

A short time later officers attempted to stop two motorcycles in Baan Baan Street at Dapto. When the riders failed to stop, the officers commenced a pursuit of one motorcycle through the Berkley area.

The pursuit was terminated a short time later.

The armed male was described to police as being between 18 and 20 years old, dark complexion, brown eyes, clean shaven, 175cm tall with an average build.

He wore a grey sleeveless hooded shirt, blue denim jeans and a white open-faced crash helmet.

No further description of the individuals or vehicles involved is available.

Police have appealed for anyone with information or dash cam footage of the unconfirmed stabbing or pursuit to contact police immediately.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to Cody Coppock’s whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers.
