Police seek witnesses after stabbing in Liverpool

Police have appealed to the community for witnesses to come forward after a man was stabbed in Liverpool this evening, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 7pm today (Thursday 1 November 2018), police were called to Castlereagh Street at Liverpool after reports that a man had been stabbed.

Emergency services attended with Ambulance paramedics treating a man in his 20’s who had suffered a stab wound to the abdomen.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene near the intersection with Elizabeth Drive.

Police believe that a number of people were in the area at the time and have spoken to several witnesses.

Investigators have appealed to the public for information about a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He has been described to police as being 183cm tall with dark, curly hair and possibly wearing a red or maroon singlet. The man was seen to leave the area on foot.

Investigators have appealed for anyone with dash-cam footage of the incident or with information about the stabbing to come forward immediately.
