Police seek witnesses after vehicle evades police in Fawkner

Vehicle Crime Squad detectives are appealing for public assistance after a vehicle evaded police before colliding with a car in Fawkner earlier this week.

Police attempted to intercept the white Audi A5 Coupe, bearing stolen registration plates ZRU116, about 6.55pm on 8 February in Clara Street when it collided with a vehicle travelling in the area at the time.

The Audi then collided with a street sign and fence causing extensive damage to the front of the vehicle.

Police lost sight of the vehicle a short time later along Sydney Road in Fawkner.

The front bumper of the Audi, which has a distinctive grey bonnet, was completely dislodged during the incident along with damage to one or both rear tail lights.

Investigators have released images of two men who they believe can assist with their enquires.

The first male was wearing a red shirt, black cap and black sunglasses.

The second male had a shaved head and was wearing black and gold sunglasses with an earring in his left ear.
