Police seek witnesses - Disturbance in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses after a large disturbance in the Alice Springs CBD yesterday.

Between 3:00pm and 4:20pm, police received reports of a large number of youths creating a disturbance at a number of businesses along Railway Terrace, Bath Street and Stott Terrace.

The reports included property being strewn around and an alleged assault.

Police responded and four youths were detained before being released pending further investigation.

Superintendent Antony Deutrom said, "Police are calling for anyone who witnessed these incidents, or who has footage, to come forward to assist police with enquiries. Please quote reference 9979138.

"This sort of violent, unruly behaviour is unacceptable."
