Police seek witnesses - Robbery in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses to a robbery of a man on Gap Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Around 1:50am a man was sitting outside a store on Gap Road when he was approached by four young males who allegedly physically assaulted him and stole his wallet before leaving the area.

The man suffered some facial injuries as a result of the assault and sought assistance from a nearby licensed premises before reporting it to police.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage and are calling for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them on 131 444 or report it anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The four youth are described as being of Aboriginal appearance, aged between 15 and 16-years-old, with one wearing a black singlet and black shorts at the time of the incident.

Plain Clothes Constable First Class Brett Geranios from Southern Investigations said several lines of inquiry have been established with further inquiries being undertaken today.

"We are following up on these, but we would like to appeal to anyone who saw the incident or knows anything which may assist with this investigation to come forward with information," said PCC Geranios
