Police seek witnesses to assault in Alice Springs 27 April

Northern Territory Police are seeking public assistance in identifying two female witnesses in relation to an assault that occurred outside a licensed premises in Alice Springs earlier this month.

Around 6:30pm on Saturday 10 April a man assaulted another man causing him to fall to the ground and resulting in a fractured jaw.

Police are seeking to identify the two women (pictured) who were captured on CCTV in close proximity of the assault.

Senior Constable Tim van den Berg said there were multiple patrons in the establishment during the assault, and urged them to contact police.

"It is important that we gather as much information as possible from those who were there are the time of the assault," said Snr Cstbl van den Berg

"These women are in no way any trouble. However they were privy to the discussion prior to the assault and we hope they can provide some insight as to what was said prior to the assault."

The woman are described as being of Indigenous in appearance, middle-aged and wearing black coloured beanies. One woman was wearing a purple and yellow long skirt and a black t-shirt with a white and red logo on the front. The other woman was wearing a black beanie, white and black coloured blouse and a black long skirt.

Police urge anyone with information which may assist with this investigation to contact them on 131 444 or report it anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
