Police seek witnesses to Collingwood burglary

Yarra Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Collingwood in December 2023.

It is believed an unknown offender used a bolt cutter to break into a secure car park of a business on Smith Street on 17 December about 4am.

He left the scene a short time later.

On 18 December, a group of unknown offenders broke into the same business stealing paintings and limited-edition fashion worth around $10,000.

No one was inside the premises at the time.

The group fled with the items as well as the business's CCTV system and were last seen on foot heading north along Smith Street.

Investigators have released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived as being Middle Eastern in appearance, mid 40's, about 175cms and last seen wearing a light-coloured jacket, black tracksuit pants and light-coloured runners.

Detectives have also released an image of one of limited edition shoes stolen in the burglary.
