Police seek witnesses to cyclist struck in Benalla hit run

Police are appealing for information following a hit-run collision in Benalla this morning.

It is understood a 72-year-old Benalla man was riding his push-bike east on Kilfeera Road about 7.45am.

Investigators believe a car also travelling on Kilfeera Road, east of the Hume Highway overpass, struck the cyclist and left the scene without stopping.

The cyclist was air-lifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police would like to speak with the driver of a silver Ford Falcon with panel damage to the passenger side, who may be able to assist them with their enquiries.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with any information or anyone with dash cam footage who may have seen the Ford Falcon prior to or after the collision, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
