Police seek witnesses to Footscray pedestrian fatality

Police are seeking witnesses after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a truck in Footscray this morning.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Moreland Street and Parker Street following reports of a deceased male about 10.15am.

Sadly the man, who is yet to be identified, died at the scene.

The truck driver, a 58-year-old Bacchus Marsh man, is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.

Major collision investigation unit detectives are en route to the scene.
