Police seek witnesses to Frankston affray

Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following an affray in Frankston this afternoon.

Investigators have been told a woman attended a café on Beach Street just before 12.20pm and was spoken to by another woman at the café as she was not wearing a mask.

The incident escalated into an assault and police were called.

On police arrival the woman refused to state her name and assaulted a police officer.

The 58-year-old Frankston woman was arrested at the scene and currently remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigators believe there were a large number of people who witnessed and filmed the incident, as well as the lead up to the incident, and are appealing for them to come forward.
