Police seek witnesses to Monash Freeway collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a ute and two trucks in Dandenong North this morning.

The white Mitsubishi tray utility entered the Monash Freeway at the Stud Road out-bound on-ramp shortly after 7.30am.

It appears the ute has crossed all lanes of traffic and collided with the centre barrier.

It has then crashed into a semi-trailer and overturned, coming to rest on its roof.

The semi has swerved and crashed into another truck which in turn crashed into the barrier.

Luckily the driver of the ute, a 23-year-old man from Ferntree Gully, escaped with minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The two truck drivers were not injured in the incident.

Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and urge any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
