Police seek witnesses to St Kilda crash

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash in St Kilda last night (7 May).

Investigators have been told a car was travelling along Queens Way when the driver lost control and crashed into a railing near Hoddle Street just after 7pm.

A passenger in the car, a 41-year-old man from Keysborough, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver, a 23-year-old man from Altona, was arrested at the scene and returned a positive preliminary drug test.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined but it is believed the vehicle may have been racing a white coloured sedan.

The other car is yet to be located and did not stop at the scene of the crash.
