Police seeking two stolen carsin Brisbane

Detectives are seeking public assistance to help locate two stolen vehicles involved in serious crimes during July. Three men have been charged with 22 offences however a white Mercedes and a black Honda have not been located.

It will be alleged at 6.50pm on July 23, three men approached a betting business on Junction Road at Clayfield carrying a sawn-off shot gun, axe and sledgehammer. A staff member saw them and locked the door. One of the men smashed the glass door with the sledgehammer before then three men fled empty handed. A member of the public filmed the men leaving the scene in a black Honda Civic Type R.

It will be further alleged at 8.20pm on that night, three men have entered a convenience store on Bennetts Road at Norman Park and threatened the female staff member with a sawn-off shot gun. They demanded cash and cigarettes.

The men entered a neighbouring bottle shop business where staff had taken refuge in a rear room. The men removed cash from the till before leaving the area in a white Mercedes.

CCTV from the businesses showed the men were also involved in the Clayfield attempted robbery.

On Saturday July 24, police arrested two men at Junction Road in Annerley. One of the men was found to be in possession of the keys for the Honda and Mercedes. A short time later a third man was arrested in Stanley Street at East Brisbane.

A 35-year-old Wynnum West man, a 25-year-old Annerley man and a 26-year-old Shorncliffe man have all been charged with three counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery, six counts of enter premises, three counts each of burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and receiving tainted property, two counts of stealing, and one count of arson.

They appeared on July 26 and will reappear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 11.

The white 2015 Mercedes GLA45 with Queensland registration Q45GLA was stolen from a Wynnum residence on July 8 after offenders stole the keys from inside the house during the night.

The black 2020 Honda Civic R with Queensland registration 115ZPJ was stolen from an Annerley residence on June 29 after an earlier break-in when the car key was stolen. The Honda is believed to have stolen registration plates of 981YUI fitted to the vehicle.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who has seen the vehicles or has further information to contact police.
