Police seize 147 cannabis plants in Berala

A man has been charged after police uncovered a hydroponic cannabis house in Berala yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 9.30am today, officers from Flemington Local Area Command attended a home on Fifth Avenue, Berala and executed a search warrant.

Inside, police allegedly located cannabis plants and a large hydroponic setup inside the house.

A total of 147 cannabis plants and hydroponic equipment was seized by police. All items will undergo forensic examination.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Flemington Police Station.

The man was charged with cultivate prohibited plant – commercial quantity, found on/entering/leaving drug premises, use/consume/waste electricity without authority, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and deal with property suspected proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today tomorrow.
