Police Staff Member Facing Court in Far North Qld

A 39-year-old male unsworn staff member from the Far Northern Region has been served with a Notice to Appear for offences of making a false declaration; fraud and computer hacking and misuse.

The staff member has been suspended from duty with the Queensland Police Service and is expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on February 7.

In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when a member of the QPS faces serious allegations of misconduct.

This does not mean that the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.
