A student at the NSW Police Academy has been charged with mid-range drink driving in Goulburn.
About 12.15am today (Saturday 14 June 2025), security officers at the NSW Police Force Academy were alerted to damage caused to a front boom gate at the entrance of the Academy.
On further inspection, the officers located a vehicle parked on the side of McDermott Drive, with a man in the driver's seat.
The man – a 33-year-old police student – was subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result.
He was arrested and taken to Goulburn Police Station, where a secondary breath analysis was conducted, which returned an alleged reading of 0.108.
The man was issued a field court attendance notice for drive with middle range PCA and his NSW driver's licence was suspended.
He will appear at Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday 16 July 2025.
The student has been stood down and his professional suitability is under review.
