Police to conduct fresh search at Cape Jaffa, SA

South Australia Police Water Operations Unit will commence another search tomorrow when they return to Kingston in the State’s south east to search for the Vandepeer family boat which went missing off Cape Jaffa last month, according to SA Police.

Authorities were first alerted just after 9am on Tuesday 13 December, after the boat containing local residents Len Vandepeer and his wife Annette, both 56, and their 27-year-old son, Doug, failed to return to the Cape Jaffa boat ramp the night prior.

Side-scan sonar will be used to search the sea floor for the boat in what is planned as a four day operation.

Water Operations Unit will launch each day at 6am and are scheduled to return at 6pm, unless something is found.
