Police treating fire as suspicious, Ashmore

Police have declared a crime scene at a business in Ashmore, after a fire began just before 4am this morning, October 11.

Initial investigations indicate a male person was seen near the business on Cotlew Street at the time of the fire, and investigators will spend the morning determining how the blaze was started.

No one was physically injured as a result of the fire.

A neighbouring business was also damaged.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the man, or who may have relevant dash-camera footage from Cotlew Street at that time, to contact them.

Investigations are ongoing.
