Police treating fire as suspicious at CBD hotel, South Australia

Police are investigating after a fire caused damage to a city hotel this morning.

About 2.20am Wednesday 22 January emergency services were called to King William Street after reports of a fire at the rear of a Hotel.

Upon arrival MFS crews battled the blaze which had broken out at the rear of the premises on Waymouth Place, while police evacuated patrons. The fire was brought under control quickly but it caused extensive damage to the rear of the premises. Thankfully there were no injuries.

Police believe the fire may have been deliberately lit and Crime Scene Investigators are at the scene assisting with the investigation.

King William Street was closed while emergency services were on scene but has since been reopened.
