Police treating fire as suspicious at Penrith

An investigation is underway following a suspicious fire in Sydney's west overnight.

About 9.20pm (Tuesday 9 April 2019), emergency services were called to an industrial yard on Castlereagh Road, near Lugard Street, Penrith, following reports of a fire.

The blaze was extinguished by Fire & Rescue NSW.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire.

No one was injured and the yard sustained minor damage.

Initial inquiries suggest the fire may have been deliberately lit and investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward.
