Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a house fire in Albanvale this morning.
Emergency services were called to the President Road home, which was unoccupied and believed to be under renovation, following reports of the fire shortly after 2am.
Due to the size of the fire neighbouring homes were evacuated as a precaution.
The fire was extinguished by fire authorities and at this stage is being treated as suspicious.
A crime scene has been established and crime scene guard placed on the property overnight.
It is expected a fire investigator and Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives will attend the scene this morning.
