Police treating fire as suspicious, Southport 12 January

Police are investigating after a fire caused damage to two businesses in Southport this morning.

Officers were called around 2.30am following reports of smoke coming from the rear of the Nerang Street location (on Regents Lane).

The fire was quickly brought under control however two businesses were damaged. A crime scene was declared and police investigations into the incident continue.

Police are urging who may have CCTV or dashcam footage in or around Davenport Street, Young Street or Regents Lane between 1am and 2am to contact police immediately.
