Police update 1: Armed robbery, Wynnum

Detectives from Wynnum Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are appealing for public information following an armed robbery in Wynnum on April 20.

Initial investigations indicate just before 8pm, two men entered a Florence Street tobacconist and threatened a female attendant with a handgun and a machete.

The woman complied, and the pair left the store through a rear door towards Edith Street with tobacco products and a sum of cash.

No one was physically injured.

The first man is described as being in his early 20s, of Pacific Islander descent, approximately 160cm tall, with an athletic build.

He was wearing a grey hoodie, a black cap, black track pants, white running shoes, gloves, and was armed with a handgun.

The second man is described as Caucasian in appearance, in his early 20s, approximately 175cm tall, with a slim build and wearing a black hoodie, black tracksuit pants, running shoes, carrying a black sports bag, and armed with a machete in a tan sheath.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who recognises the duo, or who has information or relevant vision, to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
