Police update 1: Break and enter, Wavell Heights

North Brisbane Detectives have charged a man following investigations into an alleged break and enter in Wavell Heights on March 8.

Shortly before 6.30pm, three men in a black sedan arrived on Warril Street, got out of the car and approached a house.

Police will allege the men forced entry to the home and confronted two occupants, a woman in her 70s and a man in his 80s, before smashing property and fleeing in the car.

The couple in the house were not physically injured during the incident.

As a result of a public appeal officers took a man into custody at the intersection of Lemke Road and Telegraph Road in Taigum, just before 8pm last night.

A 20-year-old Deagon man has been charged with enter dwelling with intent, wilful damage, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing a knife in a public place.

He is due to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on March 11.

Investigations are continuing to identify the other people involved in the incident and anyone with information is urged to contact police.
