Police update 1: Fatal motorcycle crash, New Beith

Police investigating a fatal motorcycle crash at New Beith on Sunday, September 11 are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Preliminary information suggests around 2.30pm, a 15-year-old boy was riding a red Honda dirt bike when he struck a tree along New Beith Road after failing to negotiate a sweeping bend.

A fellow rider nearby raised the alarm however emergency services could not revive the 15-year-old.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses, especially those with dashcam vision of the crash, or the moments leading up to it to contact police.

Police are also appealing for motorists in the area to provide dashcam captured along New Beith Road, Goodna Road, Old Greenbank Road and Middle Road between 2.15pm and 2.40pm.
