Police update 1: Homicide investigation, Redbank Plains

Detectives from Ipswich and the Homicide Investigation Unit investigating the homicide of a 70-year-old woman at Redbank Plains overnight have released an image of a seized vehicle of interest as investigations continue.

It will be alleged the vehicle, a blue 2009 Hyundai Getz with Queensland registration 432 TYO (pictured), was driven from the Redbank Plains Road shopping centre following the incident and was located this morning at Springfield Lakes.

That vehicle has since been seized for forensic examination.

Investigators have released an image of the vehicle and are appealing to anyone who was in the Redbank Plains and Springfield Lakes areas between 6pm and 7pm last night, February 3, and may have seen the vehicle to contact police.

Those with relevant vision, including CCTV and dashcam footage, are also asked to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
