Police Update 1: Hooning Event Charges At Logan

Queensland Police have charged two men following continued investigations into a large hooning event and wilful damage of police vehicles that allegedly occurred in the vicinity of Waterford West on Saturday, March 9.

Investigators also continue to appeal for information to identify several other people who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

A search warrant was executed at a Moffatt Road property yesterday, where a 20-year-old man was taken into custody.

Another related search warrant was executed at a Merino Street property, resulting in an 18-year-old man being taken into custody.

The 20-year-old Waterford man has been charged with one count each of wilful damage of police property, commit public nuisance, enter premises with intent to commit indicatable offence (entering occupied police vehicle) and participate in hoon event.

He is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Courts on April 3.

The 18-year-old Park Ridge man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, participating in a group activity for racing, burn out or other hooning offences, and evasion offence.

He is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on April 22.

Investigations continue.
