Officers from Fortitude Valley Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have charged a boy following investigations into the alleged serious assault of a woman in Fortitude Valley on August 24.
Investigations indicate around 4am, police were called to a Brunswick Street nightclub, following reports of a physical altercation between two groups of people.
A 22-year-old Kingston woman sustained serious head injuries during the altercation and was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
Following a public appeal for information, a 17-year-old Sunnybank Hills boy attended Calamvale Police Station early this morning, 16 October.
He has since been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm.
The boy is due to appear in Brisbane Childrens Court on November 11.
Investigations remain ongoing.
