Police update 2: Armed robbery Beenleigh

Detectives are seeking dashcam or CCTV – especially from the Eagleby area – that could assist with investigations into the armed robbery of a tavern at Beenleigh on April 4, 2019.

Police are particularly keen to obtain any relevant CCTV from homes or dashcam from cars that were driving along Fryar Road, River Hills Road, Logan Street, Monmouth Street, Schmidt Road and Eagleby Road between the hours of 1am and 2.30am on April 4.

Detectives are asking for residents who reside in these streets to please check their yards and properties for any outstanding cash boxes (pictured), dark clothing, rubber gloves or firearms that could be linked to the robbery.

Investigators are requesting the public to not to touch the cash boxes or any items if they locate them and to contact police. If anyone has already located any tins or items please surrender them to your local police station.

Around 1.50am on April 4, two men armed with sawn off firearms entered the Distillery Road tavern and made demands for money, obtaining cash from two female employees aged 48 and 27, and a 42-year-old male patron of the business.

The men then demanded access to a number of poker machines and obtained further money.

During the incident it appears one of the men discharged a firearm into the floor.

No one was physically injured during the robbery.

Both of the men are described as Caucasian in appearance, aged between 18 to 25-years-old and were wearing runners, track pants, dark coloured hoodies, gloves and had their faces covered.
