Detectives from the Tablelands Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and Homicide Investigation Unit have charged a 37-year-old Dimbulah man following the death of a 70-year-old Dimbulah man on 23 March.
It will be alleged around 8pm on 24 March, police were called to a Stock Road property to conduct a welfare check, and located human remains in the yard area.
Police further allege the men were known to each other and were involved in an altercation at the Stock Road property on the evening of 23 March.
Around 2pm yesterday 31 March, the man was taken into custody in Mareeba.
The 37-year-old man has been charged with one count of murder (domestic violence offence) and misconduct with corpse by interfering (domestic violence offence).
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court today, 1 April.
