Police update 2: Man charged over double homicide, Joyner

Detectives are appealing for members of the public to come forward as they continue their investigation into the deaths of a man and woman at Joyner yesterday.

As part of Operation Sierra Tamarind, officers are asking motorists who were travelling between Joyner, the Gold Coast and Ku-ring-gai in New South Wales between Saturday evening and 6.30pm last night to contact police.

A man and woman, both aged 59, were located deceased at the Hazlemere Court home just before 2pm.

Investigators are appealing for information in relation to a white 2020 model RAV4 (similar to the one pictured) seen traveling from the Joyner property around 7pm on Saturday.

Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage in or around Joyner, in particular on Lake Samsonvale, Forman Road, Forman Park, and Youngs Crossing Road is asked to contact police.

Initial inquiries indicate it then travelled towards the Gold Coast and was in Shillito Street Southport overnight of Saturday May 16 before travelling into New South Wales on Sunday, May 17.

Investigators are also seeking anyone who was in these areas with dash-cam footage to contact police.

A crime scene remains in place at the Joyner property with Queensland detectives travelling down to Sydney late this afternoon.

The 31-year-old man arrested by NSW Police has been remanded in custody until tomorrow when Queensland police will appear before the court seeking extradition.
