Police update 2: Search continues for man missing in waters off Southport

Police have released the name and photos of a man missing in waters off Southport since Sunday December 29.

Around 1.35pm yesterday (December 29) police were advised that a jetski (pictured) belonging to 54-year-old Anthony Schilperoort (pictured) was found drifting in the Coral Sea, approximately 13kms east of the Southport seaway.

A search was commenced yesterday afternoon and continues again today involving multiple vessels from the Queensland Water Police (Gold Coast, Redlands and Brisbane) as well as the Coast Guard, Volunteer Marine Rescue and Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ).

Aerial assets include helicopters from Polair, Rescue 500 and SLSQ, as well as fixed wing aircraft from the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.
