Police update 3: Suspicious death, Upper Mount Gravatt

Detectives have charged a 43-year-old Upper Mount Gravatt man with murder following investigations into the death of a woman at Upper Mount Gravatt last night (September 6).

Police will allege the 45-year-old Wynnum woman was fatally wounded at a private residence on Wishart Road just before 8pm.

Following investigations led by detectives from the Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branch and the Homicide Investigation Unit, a man was arrested about 8pm this evening (September 7).

The man, who was known to the victim, voluntarily attended the local police station early this morning to assist officers with their enquiries.

He was taken into custody while at the station and has now been charged with one count of murder as a domestic violence offence.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow (September 8).
