Detectives from the Mackay Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and Homicide Investigation Unit have arrested a 46-year-old Mackay woman with the murder of a 71-year-old man following his reported disappearance from Mackay in November 2025.
Investigations commenced and led detectives to believe his disappearance was suspicious after he had not contacted or been seen by anyone in a number of weeks.
Around 9.30am this morning, 8 May, a 46-year-old woman who was known to the man was taken into custody in Mackay.
The 46-year-old woman has been charged with one count each of murder and interference with a corpse.
She is due to appear before Mackay Magistrates Court later today.
